I wanted to explore the mechanics of cd packaging and branding. I created a cd box, song lyrics booklet, a custom cd and poster. I also wanted to explore layering of texture, text and images to create a grunge style. To accomplish a grunge look I took some photos on black and white film and made some of the textures with inks and paint, and then scanned them all into the computer and  digitally layered them using photoshop.

OMY tea is a brand of tea I created, and with this packaging project I wanted to create a product that was clean and calming but still hip and modern. To convey my branding style I choose the basic circle shape and used it in many ways including the box shape. The three different varieties of tea I came up with fit together to form a half circle, giving them a unique quality that will provoke the buyer to pick them up and check them out. I also choose to use calming feminine colors to appeal to a target female audience.

This branding project was created for a non-profit organization focusing on sex education in Rhode Island public schools. I decided to focus on the education aspect of the organization, and to do this I choose children with their hands up asking questions for the image of the logo. The promotional pieces for this brand identity also go along with the theme of education. I created a bookmark in the shape of a hand, a postcard questionnaire and brochure that doubles as a free standing educational centerpiece. The cool blue and green color scheme and the circles were chosen to promote a calming comforting attitude towards sex education because, with a good education comes better choices.

With this 7 spread brochure I wanted to show Vogue through time and how it has changed but also endured time. To show how Vogue has changed I used a lot of images from old issues of the magazine and I also laid out the photos differently form spread to spread. To show how Vogue has endured I used the same typeface throughout brochure and put it in about the same location on every page to create a familiar predictable rhythm.

This is series of cards I created to explore illustration and typesetting. I also wanted to pay homage to handmade card, but also show computer technology. To honor handmade cards I added elements such as glitter, paint and rhinestones onto the cards making each one unique. To demonstrate technology I did all the illustrations and layouts digitally.

These are some advertising projects I work on for sunshine joy. The first is double sided pamphlet sent out to customers who purchased fabric paint to instruct and inform them how to use it. The next two pieces are advertisements for new age magazines, and the goal was to show a variety of products in a small amount of space, the actual ads were only a few inches dimensions. The last project is a coupon sent out with orders.

These are two bandannas I designer while at sunshine joy they are currently for sale on their website. The pink bandanna is a breast cancer awareness bandana, and the other one is for snowboarders. The breast cancer awareness bandanna I wanted to be very feminine and pretty so I used filigree and floral patterns; while the snowboarding bandanna I wanted it to be edgy so I used skulls and jagged brush strokes. Bandanna design was challenging because, I had to be aware of what the design would look like when the bandanna was folded many different ways.
